The Cheek of It! Team

Zoe Charles
Founder of The Cheek of It! Zoe is also a performer, devisor, director and teacher with over 8 years of professional experience. She is co-founder of live art theatre company Charles & Cook and one third of burlesque troupe Scarletine Delight. Zoe based this company on three words: fun, inspiration and empowerment, and these are the words that excite her about every event. Known on the day as Principal Crumpet, Zoe says: “I am tickled pink by the opportunity to create something different for every client. Finding out what gets that person excited and inspiring a team of people to dedicating themselves to making that wish come true.”

The Team:
Josie Adams (Video/Documentation, Miss Movie) is a founder member of the Brighton based theatre company Volte-Face Productions and was the resident director from 2001-2004. Responsible for 5 sell-out shows and 2 short films, Josie attended the London Film School and has since been working on short films with her company Cakewalk Pictures.

Sadie Cook (Art Director, Miss Hott) is a Production Designer for theatre and film, and an events organiser. Specialising in creating bespoke props and accessories, Sadie is really enjoying working on The Cheek of It! with her longstanding collaborator Zoe Charles. Their company Charles & Cook has performed in festivals and venues from the South Bank to the seaside.

Julia Mills (Photographer, Miss Flash) Julia Mills is a professional photographer specialising in contemporary bespoke portraiture. Having taught photography for six years she decided it was the right time to follow her dream and branch out on her own launching her business Julia Mills Photography in April of 2006. Julia says: “There's something really lovely about creating joy for others, makes me feel all warm and swishy...”

Katie Etheridge (Choreographer, Miss Trott) creates performance for a variety of contexts including street/outdoor theatre, live art and cabaret. Since 1997 Katie has performed both solo and with a variety of acts in cabaret at Glastonbury, Lost Vagueness, The Groucho Club and VaVaVaVoom. Miss Trott loves creating a unique choreography for a unique troupe of women, seeing them blossom into burlesque divas, and the exciting challenge of making a show in a day.

Anna Symes (Choreographer, Miss Hanky) works in performance and comes from a broad background in dance, theatre and visual art; she has trained in Ballet and specializes in Jive, Ballroom and Argentine Tango. She is part of the burlesque troupe Scarletine Delight and is a founder member of 'Ragroof Theatre'; Mistress Hanky also teaches Jive with her dance partner Matthew Blacklock. Mistress Hanky loves teaching body confidence to burlesque virgins, bringing out people's daring side and making beautiful choreography with troupes of new people.
